We are an accredited training organisation and have three work placement positions available each term for various fields of study. Positions are available at both MBO and HBO levels.

Doing an internship in Nijmegen

The nature of the work you’ll be doing during your placement will, of course, depend entirely on your course of study. We’ll discuss with you what you could contribute to Bar Company and how we can make your placement an enjoyable and educational experience for you. Naturally, this will be done entirely in accordance with the regulations of your school or educational institution.

Marketing

Do you have a passion for and a strong affinity with social media? Are you creative and able to think ‘outside the box’? Do you always take a proactive approach and can you carry out tasks independently? Then this vacancy is definitely for you! We’re looking for a Marketing intern for the upcoming internship period.

Who are we?

Bar Company is based in Nijmegen and operates at events throughout the country. We are a large company full of committed and enthusiastic staff who are passionate about both their work and the company. With us, you can expect an informal working atmosphere within a young team of over 80 colleagues. You’ll be given plenty of freedom and the opportunity to contribute to your work, whilst receiving professional guidance. You’ll be working in the dynamic events industry, so every week is different! What are you going to do?

This work placement involves carrying out support tasks in the field of marketing
You’ll be present at the creative sessions and will have a say in them
You’ll create various types of content and post them yourself on our social media channels
You’ll learn how to set up online campaigns. Thanks in part to you, potential customers will be able to find us, and every website visitor will be turned into a conversion
During the work placement, you will have the freedom to work on an independent assignment set by your school, if you wish. Naturally, your personal development is the top priority during the placement
Finally, you’ll be helping out with day-to-day operations. We believe that having enough variety in your work makes it more enjoyable

Who are we looking for?

You are studying for a vocational or higher vocational qualification in (online) marketing, communications or another relevant subject
You are enthusiastic, creative, flexible, independent, presentable and a good team player
You are proactive and have a hands-on approach
You have a good command of the Dutch language
You have a passion for marketing, social media and coming up with content
You’re comfortable using a camera or are interested in doing so
You have Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom
You hold a Category B driving licence

Sales / Commercial

We organise more than 2,500 events a year; that’s a lot of sales and advisory meetings. That’s why we could really do with your help!

Do you have a business mindset? And would you like to get even better at this? Then this sales placement is the one for you!

Over the next six months, you will be joining Bar Company’s sales team. This team currently consists of three full-time in-house sales representatives. With your help, the sales department will perform even better. As well as providing day-to-day support, you will carry out research, draft a report and put its recommendations into practice.

What do we expect from our new sales intern?

You’re creative and come up with ideas
You enjoy being given the freedom to work independently (with proper guidance, of course)
You enjoy sharing the knowledge and experience you already have

Your day-to-day duties

You will carry out a relevant study and compile the findings into an advisory report. We will determine the research question together, in consultation with you.
You’ll be helping out with day-to-day operations. We believe that having enough variety in your work makes it more enjoyable. This includes conducting sales meetings independently, preparing quotations, attending meetings, setting up campaigns and handling after-sales support.

HR

Who are we?

Bar Company is a business with over eighty enthusiastic staff members and 20 bright minds in the office. Thanks to this large and close-knit team, we are able to organise successful events for our clients more than 2,500 times a year throughout the Netherlands (and sometimes even beyond!). We work for virtually all event agencies and are also hired by private clients, which means our market is very large and we can even call ourselves the market leader in our sector. Why do we need you?

In a company with nearly a hundred employees, it is important that the administration is managed carefully, in a structured manner and kept up to date. That is why we are looking for an HR intern to support our HR department with the day-to-day tasks involved.

What are you going to do?

From February, you’ll be joining a close-knit, open and enthusiastic HR department for six months. You’ll support the team with the day-to-day tasks involved and will also be given your own responsibilities regarding administration and a new internal communications strategy. In addition, you’ll be involved in the preparations for major public events and gain an insight into the work of an HR officer.

You will provide direct support to the current HR team
You’ll be given your own project relating to e-learning and internal communication strategy
You are responsible for maintaining, amending and updating internal documentation
You will assist with recruitment, the application process and the associated administrative tasks
Maintaining and updating the current staff list
Helping to devise, organise and run internal events and social gatherings
Of course, you’ll also be helping out with day-to-day operations

Communication & Multimedia Design / Videographer

Are you passionate about social media? Do you wake up in the middle of the night with the most creative ideas? Are you interested not only in coming up with the best social media posts but also in the strategy behind them? Then this work placement is definitely for you! We’re currently looking for a Communications & Multimedia Design intern for the coming period!

Who are we?

What are you going to do?

This work placement involves carrying out support tasks relating to the creation and analysis of content.
Ensuring compliance with our corporate identity.
Designing and implementing campaigns and promotions
You’ll be present at the creative sessions and will have a say in them.
Together with another intern, you’ll come up with the content for each coming week for our social media channels. Together, you’ll ensure that the content is delivered, and you’ll make sure it’s ready down to the last detail to be posted online.
Creating the coolest videos at the best locations all over the country.
You ensure that as many people as possible are aware of us by creating content that matches what they want to see.
You’ll draw up a plan of action and a shot list for the shoot. This involves deciding what footage you want to capture. Then, during the shoot, you’ll work alongside the event staff to capture the best shots.
Finally, you’ll be helping out with day-to-day operations. We believe that having enough variety in your work makes it more enjoyable.

Who are we looking for?

You are studying for a vocational or higher vocational qualification in communication and multimedia design, or another relevant course.
You are enthusiastic, creative, flexible, independent, presentable and a good team player.
You are proactive and have a hands-on approach.
You have a good command of the Dutch language.
You have a passion for photography and videography, social media and the strategy behind it, and graphic design.
You’re good with a camera
You have access to Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Illustrator. You also know the basics of these programmes.
You hold a Category B driving licence.

Logistics Assistant / Facilities (MBO)

Do you enjoy combining office work with a role in logistics? Do you work meticulously and keep a clear overview even when things get busy? And do you make the most of the scope you’re given to contribute your own ideas? If so, we’ve got a really great work placement on offer!

What are you going to do?

There’s always room for improvement. You’ll be taking a close look at our logistics flows. You’ll be carrying out research into areas such as routing and procurement processes. But as well as conducting research, you’ll also be involved in day-to-day operations. This means you’ll be working as a work planner in our warehouse. Your responsibilities will include:

Loading and unloading buses
Cleaning and processing materials
Making purchases and arranging (subsequent) deliveries
