The unique BC Espresso Blend
When you hire a barista with their own coffee bar, you want something special. Otherwise, you could just have bought a bag of coffee from the supermarket, couldn’t you?
That’s why we serve a very speciality coffee that isn’t available in shops. A coffee that not only tastes great, but is also good for the world. We’d love to tell you more about the coffee we serve: our very own BC Espresso Blend.
Our coffee is traceable via blockchain
Together with Brinks Coffee Roasters, we have developed our own coffee blend. The journey of our coffee beans is fully traceable via blockchain (Ethereum). The coffee comes directly from the farmer, with no middlemen. This is guaranteed by the Farmers Direct quality mark.
In addition, our coffee has the Rainforest Alliance label. This certification guarantees nature conservation and fair conditions for coffee farmers.
Oyster mushrooms
We sort the coffee grounds left over after making coffee. We take them to De Versfabriek, where oyster mushrooms are grown on our coffee grounds.
How does the coffee taste?
The BC coffee blend has a wonderful, well-rounded and sweet flavour with very little acidity. That’s how we turn an everyday cup of coffee into a real experience. Watch the video;
What is speciality coffee?
Speciality coffee is a quality designation. Only the very best coffee may be called speciality coffee. Speciality coffee is characterised by its strong aroma. This means that the coffee possesses unique flavour characteristics. A coffee may be called ‘specialty coffee’ if it scores at least 85 out of 100 points during testing and tasting, also known as ‘cupping’. The coffee is assessed on 11 different criteria.
