You’re planning an event and you request a quote via the Bar Company website. That very same day, a man called Thomas calls you back.

With his friendly and disarming voice, he asks, ‘Hi, how can I help you?’ You tell him what you’re organising and what you’d like to hire. Thomas tells you everything you want to know, but he goes one step further. He also inspires you with a few brilliant ideas that you hadn’t thought of yourself.

But as the conversation goes on, you find yourself thinking, ‘Hang on a minute, couldn’t Thomas just come along himself? What a lovely bloke!’

After he’d been to 9,000 parties, we’ve now taken Thomas under our wing to protect him from our customers. Parties are all well and good, but Thomas is ours.

Why is Thomas so well-liked by his colleagues, customers and dairy producers?

Is it because he has a tub of creamy Danone stracciatella quark for breakfast EVERY day? Or because he has bami soup or a toasted sandwich with mayonnaise for lunch EVERY day? Is it because he wears a braided anklet? Or because he only styles his hair at the office and never at home? Is it because he’s from Tilburg? Or is it because, during his first week at work, after 21 gin and tonics at a Friday afternoon drinks party, he left our freezer door open and that night €1,000‘s worth of frozen fruit and ice cubes melted away? (a ’gin-cident’).

Team Bar Company is still searching for the answer. Either way, you’ve got to love Thomas.
