What’s in a protein shake?

De basis is whey, of een plantaardig eiwit voor wie zuivel liever laat staan. Vers fruit brengt de smaak en de kleur. Chiazaad geeft zwarte spikkels en een beetje bite, amandelmelk of havermelk houdt hem licht.

Onze protein shakes zijn een eiwitrijke traktatie voor jouw gasten.

Wat je proeft is een heerlijke frisse eiwitrijke blend van fruit en room: verse blauwe bessen, zoete banaan of donkerpaarse açaí. De eiwitten maken elke slok voller dan een gewone smoothie. Niets komt voorgemixt uit een fles, we blenden alles vers op jouw locatie.

What does hiring a protein shake bar involve?

You point out the spot, we’ll take care of the rest. We bring a fully equipped bar to your venue: the bar unit, the blenders, the fresh ingredients and the bartender behind the bar. You can choose the bar unit from a range of styles, from high-gloss white and rustic fruit crates to the green moss bar. All you need on site is a power supply and a bit of space. We’ll bring the cups, ice, water and egg whites. When we’re finished, we’ll leave the place exactly as we found it.

What we need from you

  • One 230V / 16A power point for the blenders. No power? Then we’ll bring a generator.
  • Approximately 2.5 metres wide by 2 metres deep, plus workspace behind the bar.
  • No water connection is required. We’ll bring our own water.
  • All bars fit through a standard doorway measuring 0.85 metres.
  • Lots of visitors? The bars can be linked together to form one extra-large set-up.
  • Allow for about 1.5 drinks per guest.
  • We handle all the set-up and dismantling ourselves. All you need to do is show us where to go.

1How much does it cost to hire a protein shake bar?+
That depends on the number of guests, the duration and your venue. We operate on a fixed-price basis, clearly set out in writing in advance, with no surprises afterwards. Request a no-obligation quote, and we’ll get back to you within 24 hours on working days to let you know the cost for your event.
2Do you use whey or plant-based proteins?+
Both. Whey is the classic choice and mixes to a creamy consistency, whilst plant-based proteins made from peas or rice are available for anyone who prefers to avoid dairy. Let us know what sort of audience you’re expecting, and we’ll include the right option on your menu. A mixed selection featuring both is also possible.
3How many shakes should I allow per visitor?+
Allow for about 1.5 drinks per guest – that should do the trick. As we make three different varieties, there are always visitors who, after their first one, want to try the other flavours as well.
4What is the difference between a protein shake and a smoothie?+
Een smoothie is fruit en groente in de blender, een protein shake heeft daarnaast een eiwitbron als basis. Dat maakt hem voller en romiger in de mond. In smaak en kleur lijken ze op elkaar, dus je kunt beide naast elkaar op één bar zetten.
5How quickly does a shake appear on the bar?+
A shake goes from the blender to the glass in about a minute, including the finishing touches. On a busy day, that’s exactly the idea: long enough for a chat, short enough to prevent a queue from forming. At peak times, we bring in a second blender or a second barista.
6Are the shakes suitable for people with allergies?+
We use almond milk and chia seeds as standard, so nuts and seeds are included in our standard menu. If you let us know about any allergies in advance, we’ll adapt the recipes or prepare an alternative using soya milk or oat milk. Our bartender can always tell you exactly what’s in your drink when you’re here.
7Can you make the shakes alcohol-free?+
All protein shakes are alcohol-free. This makes the bar suitable for your whole group, even at a trade fair where alcohol isn’t always appropriate. If you’d still like a cocktail bar later in the day, we can organise that at the same venue.
8Can I put my logo on something?+
Absolutely. We work at trade fair stands and corporate events a lot, so we know how important branding is. Send us your logo and we’ll add it to the menus free of charge. Shakes can also feature your company name.
9What happens when we’ve reached the agreed number of shakes?+
We always bring along some extra ingredients and cups, and we’ll let you know when we’re nearly at the agreed quantity. You can then decide whether to close the bar or to buy the extra shakes at the same price per serving. We never make any extra without your approval.
10How far in advance do I need to book?+
The earlier you book, the more choice you’ll have when it comes to bar furniture and dates. We’re also happy to help with last-minute enquiries. With 2,500 events a year, we have the capacity to adapt quickly.
11Can you provide any other healthy drinks as well?+
Yes. As well as protein shakes, we make fresh smoothies, cold-pressed juices, healthy shots and, for example, matcha or iced coffee. Ideal if you want a fully healthy drinks range at your stand.
12How many bartenders are behind the bar?+
That depends on your visitor numbers and the duration of your event. On an average trade fair day, one bartender runs the bar; during busy periods or short peaks, we bring in a second bartender to keep the queue short. We’ll advise you in advance on what’s best suited to your numbers.
13Can the bar be set up outside as well?+
That’s perfectly fine. We would, however, recommend a canopy or a marquee, so that quality and speed are guaranteed should the weather take a turn for the worse. That way, the ingredients will stay at the right temperature. You’ll be able to taste the difference in your glass.
