Hiring a champagne fountain

Bar Company offers two different champagne fountains: the premium champagne fountain and the grand deluxe fountain. The premium fountain holds 350 glasses and is suitable for weddings and small to medium-sized corporate events. This fountain is also mounted on wheels, making it easy to move around. The Grand Deluxe fountain can hold up to 1,500 champagne flutes and is suitable for larger corporate events and galas. This fountain is 3 metres high and was specially built for Bar Company, making it the only one of its kind. If you have more guests than the champagne fountains can accommodate, that’s no problem; in that case, we’ll keep topping up the fountain with champagne throughout the party. Do you have fewer guests? That’s no problem either. In that case, we’ll partially fill the fountain with champagne-coloured water, so that the fountain still looks complete.

Types of champagne

At Bar Company, you can, of course, choose exactly which champagne you’d like to serve at your party. Simply state your preference when requesting a quote, and we’ll make sure to bring the right champagne. Not sure which champagne to choose? These are the most popular varieties at Bar Company:

  • Thienot
  • Moët & Chandon
  • Taitinger

It is also possible to use Prosecco. This is a sparkling wine and cannot be called champagne because it comes from Italy. Nevertheless, it is also a delicious and elegant drink for a party. What’s more, Prosecco is considerably cheaper, whilst still adding to the festive atmosphere. It is therefore an excellent alternative for anyone on a tight budget.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does a champagne tower actually work?

The tower is built using special champagne glasses, which are stacked securely on top of one another. The champagne is poured into the top glass, after which it flows carefully down through the lower layers. It is important that the glasses are positioned correctly and that the surface is completely level. For this reason, the structure is often built by professionals.

How many bottles do you need for a champagne fountain?

The number of bottles depends on the number of glasses and the height of the tower. On average, you can allow for one bottle for every 5 to 6 glasses. So for a tower of 50 glasses, you’ll need around 8 to 10 bottles. With larger towers, this figure rises quickly. It’s wise to always allow for a little extra to ensure the best possible effect.

Which glasses are suitable for a champagne tower?

Not every glass is suitable for a champagne tower. Straight, stable champagne glasses work best because they fit together securely. Flutes with a narrow base or rounded shapes are less suitable, as they become unstable more easily. Professional set-ups use glasses that have been specially selected for this purpose.

How many storeys can a champagne tower have?

In theory, a champagne tower can be quite tall, but in practice the limit is often between 5 and 8 storeys. This depends on the surface it is built on, the type of glass and the experience of the builders. For large corporate events, a wide tower with multiple layers is often chosen, so that it remains both impressive and stable.

How much champagne is wasted when pouring?

When serving champagne from a champagne fountain, a small amount is always lost. On average, this loss is between 5 and 10 per cent. This is because the champagne flows down the sides of the glasses and sometimes spills over the rim. With the right set-up and experienced staff, this loss is kept to a minimum.

What sort of events is a champagne fountain suitable for?

A champagne fountain is suitable for various types of events, but really comes into its own in the luxury sector. Think of corporate parties, galas, openings and anniversaries. It also creates a striking visual moment at exclusive client events or networking gatherings that guests will remember.
